Mary Evelyn Hagney, 93, of Havana passed away at 9:08 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Havana Healthcare Center. She was born on April 18, 1930 in Mason County to Edgar and Lavern (McDaniel) Bennett. She married Michael Hagney in Havana on July 12, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2017.Evelyn is survived by her children: Michael (Debbie) Hagney of Havana, Douglas (Shellie) Hagney of Havana, and Karen (Norman) Tippey of Lewistown, grandchildren: April Burgett, Aaron Hagney, David France, and Joey France, and great-grandchildren: Savannah and Anabelle Burgett and Gage and Brooklyn France. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons: Bill and Keith Hagney, and siblings: Donald Bennett and Barbara Crebo.
Evelyn was a member of the Havana Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her husband traveling, camping, and vacationing. She also enjoyed flowers, bird watching, and volunteering for the local food pantry.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Carol Stufflebeam will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
Memorial donations may be made in Evelyn’s name to Mason District Hospital-Swing Bed program. Online condolences can be left for her family at www.hurleyfh.com.
