She survives along with two sons; Shawn (Lyn) Snowman and Scott (Tracy) Snowman both of Canton, IL, five grandchildren; Amanda (Joe) Valentin, Lauren (Jacob) Ray, Stephen (Mareigh) Snowman, Taylor (Chad) Cox and Jake (Mara) Snowman and ten great grandchildren.
Tom worked at Canton School District #66, part time at Spoon River College and the ROE #26 as an Art Teacher retiring in 2017 after 40 years of teaching. He was a Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War and a member of the Canton American Legion. He also was a member of the First Christian Church in Canton, IL. Tom served on the Canton School Board for 18 years, was awarded the Alumni Achievement Award in 2017 from Western Illinois University, former vice-president of the Illinois Art Association, former board member of the YMCA, Fulton County Farm Bureau and the Fulton County Arts Council.
Cremation rites have been accorded with the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
Services will be 11 am, Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the First Christian Church in Canton, IL. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Macomb. Memorials can be made to the Canton High School Vocational Scholarship Fund in Tom’s name.
