She is also survived by her children, Blair S. Ritchey of Canton and Amy Jo (Gail Louis) McGinnis of East Peoria; and one grandchild, Trevor Patrick McGinnis, also of East Peoria.
JoAnn received her bachelor’s degree from Missouri Central State University, where she was a member of Tri Sigma Sorority. She worked as a 2nd Grade School Teacher for Central Grade School in Canton, and later as a travel agent for over 20 years in the Peoria area. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canton, and of the P. O. E. BZ Canton Chapter. JoAnn was also a member of the Altruistic Club, and was Campfire Girls Leader in the Canton area. She was always volunteering at her Church and gave her time and help to anyone who needed it. She was an avid lover of animals, enjoyed traveling the world, and spent every moment she could with her grandson, who she thought the world of.
A memorial service for JoAnn will be held at 11:00 AM at Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory in Canton on Friday, June 2, 2023, where a memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery, also in Canton. Cremation rites will be accorded.
