Larry G. Burrows

Larry G. Burrows, 77, of Shalimar, Florida, passed away at 2:45 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. He was born in Canton, IL on August 8, 1945, a son of Carl and Carla (Schwartz) Burrows. He married Pamela Jean Dennis on October 4, 1969, at the Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2018.

Also, preceding Larry in death were both parents; and two sisters, Jean Wilcoxen, Carol Ann Burrows.

He is survived by two children, Tania K. Watson of Navarre, FL and Brandon D. Burrows of Shalimar, FL; and two granddaughters.

Larry was an 18-year veteran of the Army, and a 10-Year veteran of the Air Force, where he worked as a Civilian Physician’s Assistant. He was a past member of the South Park United Methodist Church of Canton, and a huge collector of memorabilia pertaining to his favorite book written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, “Tarzan.” He was also an avid card player who really enjoyed a good competition game.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be held the night prior, Friday May 26, 2023, from 6:00- 8:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Pastor Andy Hoskins will officiate. Burial will follow services at Providence Cemetery in rural Lewistown. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
