Evelyn P. Dorich

Evelyn P. Dorich, 95, of Peoria, formerly of Elmwood, passed away at 8:40 a.m., on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Bickford House in Peoria. She was born December 24, 1927, in Pierson, IL, to Marion and Pearl (Abbott) Gregory. She married Albert Dorich on January 3, 1948, in Canton. He survives.

She is also survived by four children, Linda Hamm (Allan Christy) of Astoria, David Dorich of Elmwood, Denise (Dale) Kemper of Cincinnati, OH, and Daryl (Valerie) Dorich of East Peoria; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Chester Gregory; and two sisters, Marie Esman and Doris Alexander.

Evelyn was very active in Boy Scouts in her younger years as a “Den” mother. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and overseas. More recently, she was very active in the United Methodist Church in Elmwood and the United Methodist Women organization. She was a member of the church for over 50 years.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Elmwood United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Burial will immediately follow the service at Elmwood Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elmwood United Methodist Church.
