Shirley A. Broadfield

Shirley A. Broadfield, 88, of Maquon, passed away at 10:55 p.m., on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born August 19, 1934, in Appleton, IL, to Theodore and Lola (Gibbs) McAdam. She married Merrill Broadfield on November 1, 1955 at Kohoka, MO. He survives.

She is also survived by six children, Reva (Melvin) Glidden of Victoria, Arlen (Allison) Broadfield of Altona, Rodney (Paula) Broadfield of Toulon, Alan Broadfield of Galesburg, Diane (Tim) Bohling of Muscatine, IA, and Judith Broadfield of Abingdon; one brother, Donald McAdam; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Catherine Shaner.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. A visitation will be held the night before on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Yates City Cemetery.
