Mary Alice Weaver
Canton – Mary Alice Weaver, 90, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Renaissance Care Center in Canton.
She was born on May 19, 1926, in Canton, to Frank and Lula Mae (Postin) Duryea. They preceded her in death.
She married Roderick Weaver on February 3, 1962 in Canton. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2002.
Surviving are her children Gale (Marilyn) Hinderliter of Monterey, Sally (Jim) Cebuhar of Canton, Garry (Sharon) Hinderliter of Hudson, Raymond (Mary) Weaver of Canton, Mary (Mark) Bowton of Canton, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen Great Grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death is one son Paul Dennis Hinderliter and one brother Robert Duryea.
Mary Alice was a telephone operator in Canton for 25 years retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers Club, Rebekah Lodge 245 and Rebekah Lodge 243 in Fairview where she held numerous offices. She also attended First Baptist Church and later the Temple Baptist Church in Canton. She was a member of the China Guild and enjoyed quilting and crafting and received several awards for her entries in the Fulton County Fair.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 11 am, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at the Foster Cemetery in Rural Fairview.
Memorials may be made to the St. Judes’s Children’s Hospital.
