Lewistown – Dennis James “Bubba” Monn, 61, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:00 AM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born on December 10, 1955 in Canton, IL to James Monn and Ruth Hadsall.
Surviving is his mother; Ruth (Bill) Braden of Lewistown, Son; Dennis James Monn Jr. of New Orleans, Daughter; Heather Marie Monn of Willow Creek, California; four brothers; Earl (M.A.) Monn, Greg (Carla) Monn, Tim (Sue) Monn, Billy (Lori) Braden; one sister Lisa (Norman) Lemaster, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Ruby.
Preceding him in death is his father, James Monn.
Dennis just finished his 27th year as Public Works director for the city of Lewistown, where he supervised many projects including a 1.3-Million-Dollar renovation and modernization of the city’s Well Field. He loved Lewistown, his family and friends, and spending time playing dice, watching the Cubs and Bears, and mushrooming.
Graveside services will be at 11 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Waterford Cemetery in Lewistown, IL followed by a Celebration of Life at 12 PM noon at Dickson Mounds pavilion in Lewistown, IL. Cremations rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to Lewistown Cemetery Associations. Oak Hill Cemetery.
