Ebby was born in Canton, IL to Janice Murphy of Canton, IL, on March 18, 1956 and raised by his maternal grandparents Everett and Alpha Murphy of Canton IL. He was a lover of cars and music from an early age. He worked several different places: Lenz Motorcycle of Canton, Rusty's of Havana, Orwig's of Canton, Caterpillar, Coleman's of Canton, and Art Hossler of Canton. He enjoyed spending time with his children, talking about and working on cars with them. He was a member of the Moose and Canton Elks Lodge, where he enjoyed spending time catching up with friends and family. He would spend much of his free time at sporting events for his children and then grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. He was also a big fan of helping with his kids' events including taking part in a dance recital with his daughter Whitney. Ebby was a great billiards player and enjoyed traveling for leagues and tournaments with his wife, Lori. He had also started to teach some of the younger kids in the family how to play pool. Ebby was an outdoorsy child, he grew up camping and fishing with Everett Sr. He enjoyed taking his children out fishing and going fishing with his cousins Craig, Audie, and Bubba. He was looking forward to a fishing trip with his son Brandon, grandson Carter, daughter Whitney, and grandpup Otto this summer. When he wasn't fishing, playing pool, or working, he enjoyed cooking, trying different foods and recipes, and going out to new restaurants. Ebby had a love for travel, especially Tennessee and Alabama, that he hoped to take advantage of traveling when retired but was unfortunately not able to do so. He wanted to remind everyone that time is not a guarantee so, if you want to go somewhere, don't wait, just go; there is no perfect timing. The family would like to thank his care team consisting of Dr. Krock, Dr. Lampe, and Dr. Colter. In addition, they'd like to recognize Melissa (RN) and Brandi (CNA) from Graham Hospital and the OSF Medical ICU and Palliative Care staff, for the additional support throughout his final days.
