Eddie A. Clayton

Eddie A. Clayton, 88, of Canton, passed away on July 6, 2024 at The Loft Nursing Home in Canton. He was born on November 18, 1935 in Mason City, IL to Lloyd Calvin and Ana Mae (Blurton) Clayton. Eddie married Pamela Hardesty on October 29, 1988 in Canton. She survives along with their children; Jeri (Tommy) Alison of Canton, Donna (Steve) Huggins of Farmington, Charlie (Sara) Kruzan of Pennsylvania, Donald Johnson of Ohio and Carmen, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sons; Marvin and Wayne Clayton, three brothers, four sisters and two great-grandchildren.

Eddie work at Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He also managed Sherwood Forest in Canton for many years. He was a member of the NRA and loved camping, fishing John Deere tractors and his pets.

Services will be 11 am, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Cremation rites will be accorded after services and a burial of ashes will take place in Shields Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
