Candy Lee Ann Hill, 64, of Manito, passed away on October 25th, 2023 at her daughters home in Manito.She was born September 6, 1959 in Peoria, Illinois to the late David Epkins and Charlene Knackmuhs. She married Robert Hill October 7th, 2007.
Candy worked at Pekin Insurance for 38 years where she was known and loved by everyone. Her daughter used to joke that she didn’t know a stranger because they couldn’t get out of a local restaurant without being stopped by 10 people she knew.
Candy loved her crafts and started CandiCrafts in 2019 but had created and sold crafts long before that. From wood projects to painting to crocheting. She wanted to do and try everything artistic. She LOVED making cards and teaching classes at Hobby Lobby and the local library. She loved to read and used to keep a dictionary next to her to learn words she didn’t know so she could expand her vocabulary.
She is survived by her husband Rob Hill, daughter Jaime (Brad) Crum, two grandchildren, Oakley and Abraham Crum. Her siblings Gregg (Alisa Rabb) Knackmuhs, Lynn Van Dyke and Gina Richardson, all of Manito.
Cremation Rites have been accorded and a visitation will be held, Friday, October 27, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maas-Hurley Funeral Home in Manito.
A graveside service will be held Saturday morning, October 28, 2023 at 10:00 am in Lakeview cemetery in Pekin.
Immediately following the services, lunch will be provided for friends and family at the Hill-Palmer American Legion Post in Manito.
