He was born on December 13, 1949, in Canton, to Berwyn Robert Phipps Sr., Elizabeth (Ozenberger) Phipps. They preceded him in death, along with one sister, Mary Francis Shaver.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Owens) Phipps, whom he married on, May 8, 1971 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton.
Also surviving are four children, Kenny (Sarah) Phipps of Norris, Kerri (Adam) La Sala of Canton Missouri, Kyle (Mandy) Phipps of Ipava, and Adryanne (Tanner) Alvarado of Gilson, one sister Elizabeth Mercer, and eleven grandchildren.
Rob first worked at International Harvester in Canton until it’s closing, he later retired from Cilco power plant in Bartonville as the OSHA coordinator. In retirement he worked for AgReliant Genetics in Elmwood in the seed house. He was a member of the Fairview Reformed Church where he served as an elder and a deacon. He was fire chief and trustee at Copperas Creek Fire Department in Norris, he enjoyed woodworking, reading, hunting, yardwork and being outdoors. Most of all Rob loved anything to do with any of his grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
