Canton – Alma Leta Krock, 93, of Canton, passed away at 4:35 am, Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on May 11, 1930 in Canton, to Lester “Hap” and Verna (Anderson) Oaks. They preceded her in death.
Leta married Curtis R. Krock on January 16, 1949 in Canton. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2023.
Surviving are three children; Wesley Alan Krock of Monkton, MD, Kevin Russell Krock of Rock Island and Terrisa Jean Gray of Baxtor Springs, KS, four grandchildren; Jason Wesley Stanley, Alison Marie Gabel, Jordon Wesley Krock and Nolie Elizabeth Krock, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Alvin “Leroy” Oaks, spouse Elke, and two sisters, Shirley Taylor (the late Howard), and Janet Starcevich.
Leta worked as a LPN. She first worked at Nelems in Snoqualmie Washington, and later retired from Overlake Hospital in Bellevue Washington.
In retirement she moved back to Canton and owned and operated Midwestern Travel Agency. Leta was a member of the first Christian Church in Canton, where she was also part of the choir. She was a member of Happy Feet and Sweet Adelines Inc. She enjoyed gardening, singing, and painting.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton.
Burial will immediately follow the service at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
