Ricky Dean Dye, 75, of Havana passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. He was born on September 3, 1947 in Kilbourne to Sylvester “Dutch” and Dolores (Holmes) Dye.Ricky is survived by his children, Toni (Josh Budyn) Dye of Havana, Amanda (Cole) McDaniel of Havana, and Gabriel Dye of Ansted, West Virginia; nephew, Jonathan (Trisha) Dye; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Marla (Vernon) Lascelles of Havana, Peggy (Kenny) Lascelles of Ipava, and Cheryl Dye; brother-in-law, Johnnie Bob Troxell; many nieces and nephews; and close friend, Lenny Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Tony Dye and Dennis Dye.
Ricky attended the Havana Assembly of God and the Church of Christ. He worked for many years in the landscape business and later retired from Dana Corp in Havana. He enjoyed walking his dog, gardening, and landscaping. He loved Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Westerns. He was well liked by everyone and will be missed.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at VFW Post #6408 in Havana.
