Eric M. King

Canton - Eric M. King passed away in June 2023 in West Peoria, Illinois. He was born on January 8, 1968 in Vermillion, South Dakota to Gary and Darlene (McDermott) King. Eric grew up in Canton, Illinois, and graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1986. He then graduated from Western Illinois University. He loved the freedom that being a truck driver allowed him as he drove across the country and made his home in numerous central Illinois communities. The people in Eric’s life knew him as a kind, caring and generous friend with a great sense of humor. Surviving Eric are his mother, Darlene of Canton; his brothers David of Lisle, IL and Jason (Dena) of Cincinnati, OH; his nephews and nieces Isaac, Emilie (Kate), Tristan (Sonia), and Katie (Fionn) McLoughlin. Eric was preceded in death by his father, Gary. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.. The burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Canton.
