Darlene Marie Martin

Darlene Marie Martin, 84, of Farmington, passed away at 11:05 PM on Friday, May 26, 2023, at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born on January 19, 1939, a daughter of Edmond and Annette (Blackmore) Siepel. She married Terrence Raymond Martin on June 14, 1958 in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2010.

Also, preceding Darlene in death were both of her parents; one daughter, Patricia Briggs; one daughter-in-law, Misty Martin; one grandson, Michael Liescheidt; and one sister, Mary Anne Siepel.

Surviving her are five children, Mary (Kenneth) Swearingen, Barbara (Joe) Rabenau, Janice (Scott) Liescheidt, John Martin, and Jim Martin; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Reinhardt Siepel, Tom Siepel, and Bernie (Nancy) Siepel; and one sister, Teresa (Mike) Dorothy.

Darlene worked for Farmington Postal Service for 35 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church of Farmington, and she loved to garden and spend time with her family.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington, IL. Deacon Curtis Thyse will officiate. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
