Peggy A. Smith

Peggy A. Smith, 79, of Peoria passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Mason City Area Nursing Home. She was born October 10, 1943 in Peoria to Lloyd and Dorothy (Rabbe) McCoy.

Peggy is survived by 3 sons: Scott Ray Wells of Ireland, Eric Lee Wells of Bartonville and Dustin (Lisa) Smith or Normal, 6 grandchildren: Eric Lee Wells, Jr., Emily Wells, Lauren Wells, Levi Wells, Benjamin Smith and Alex Smith, 3 great-grandchildren: Silas Oliver Clay Tomlinson, Lainey Ann Wells and Landon Lee Wells, brother Randy McCoy of TN. She was preceded in death by her husband Orville J. Smith, Jr. in 2014, her parents, brother Jim McCoy and nephew Mathew McCoy.
Peggy was a member of the University United Methodist Church of Peoria. She worked for Fleming and Potter Printing Company of Peoria and Murrays Jewelry. She enjoyed traveling to Branson, attending her grandkids ball games and making Christmas Care packages.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Online condolences may be left at www.hurleyfh.com. Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of the arrangements.
