Danny was preceded in death by his father Robert Jones, his mother Rita Jones, and his brother Bill Jones.
Danny is survived by three daughters, Laurie (husband Trent) Robertson of Astoria, Illinois, Jessicca (husband Patrick) Oehlschlager of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Lettie (husband Jared) Kendall of Webb City, Missouri, three sons, Jason (wife Janie) of Table Grove, Illinois, Danny Jr. “D.J.”(wife Leecie) of Keokuk, Iowa, Bobby (husband Joshua) Keck of Washington, Illinois, twenty-four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren and four more coming soon. Danny is survived by Rikki Bolen and Stormy Bolen and longtime friend Lisa Brockley. Danny is also survived by three sisters, Kathy, Donna, and Rhonda and one brother, Larry.
Danny was wise and witty, kind, humble, ornery, patient, selfless, kindhearted, gentle, and the hardest working man known. He always cared about the underdog.
Danny loved family and had a special way with kids. He loved trees, nature, finding and collecting arrowheads, and whittling. He had a gift for reciting poetry, riddles, and old commercials. Danny was an artist on the bulldozer and loved nothing more than working alongside D.J. and grandson Jacob.
Danny was well-known and greatly loved. He will be deeply missed here, but he is now without pain or sorrow. Danny leaves a legacy of strength, goodness, bravery, laughter, and love that will always be with us and will always be a contributing factor of who we are.
Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, Illinois. Patrick Oehlschlager will be officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to West Central Illinois Chapter Quail Forever.
