Earlene is survived by her two sons, Bill (Dee) Hanlon of Elmwood, and Bob (Meltem Aktas) of Chicago; two grandchildren, Joel (Katie) Hanlon and Lora (Ryan) Colglazier; and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Maggie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Brad.
Earlene graduated from Brimfield High School and Bradley University. She taught at Elmwood Grade School for 27 years. She owned the Hub Ballroom in Edelstein with her husband Ray Hanlon for 25 years. She also enjoyed volunteering at Center for Health, Meals on Wheels, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elmwood. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in rural Elmwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Claude Keefer Industrial Arts Building.
