Klint Noel Smith

Klint Noel Smith, age 45, has gone to be with God’s angels on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 at OSF in Peoria, Illinois. Klint was a resident of The Clayberg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 12 years. Klint was born on Christmas night, December 25, 1977 to his parents Dale L. Smith and Pamela Mae Stoneking-Smith. Klint is survived by his mother, his brother Kyle of Quincy, his sister Kirsi of Springfield, his half-brothers Jason of Pensacola, Florida, and Brent. Klint is survived by his uncles Kim and Kevin (Vicky) Stoneking and his aunts Teresa Shaw, and Beth (Randal) Boyer and his cousins Barry (Marla) Stoneking, Nicholas (Amanda) Stoneking and Abbie Stoneking and his nepew Kash. Klint was preceded in death by his father, his half-brother Eric and his maternal grandparents Leon and Betty Stoneking and his paternal grandparents Louis and Blanche Smith.

Klint began schooling as a toddler at Eastview Elementary in Canton, IL and continued his education at McCall School, Canton IL from age of 12 to 21, including vocational and social skills. As Klint was a special needs individual, his achievements through his educational experience included many devoted teachers, principals, and aides who developed Klint’s potential to independent adulthood. Those individuals shall always be recognized with love in Klint’s journey of life.

After graduation, Klint moved into group home settings for adults with developmental disabilities. While in these homes, Froelich House and Plonka Terrace, Galesburg, Il, Klint enjoyed attending day training at KCCDD and going on outings. Klint was also a resident of the Knox County Nursing Home prior to his move to The Clayberg.

Country music was Klint’s favorite to listen to, especially Randy Travis. Klint was an avid Cubs fan and he proudly would wear his Cubs attire. When you heard Klint’s amazing laugh it was because of his knock-knock jokes he shared. Klint participated in Special Olympics and enjoyed the events. He also loved the summer KARE Camp experiences.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who were part of Klint’s care including the direct staff at all of his healthcare facilities.

A special thank you to all the team at OSF Neuroscience ICU who were amazing. Klint’s final journey included The Gift of Hope Program where he shall be honored as an organ donor participant in spirit.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a family service shall be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to The Clayberg, where we hope Klint’s ray of light will shine with love and strength in all of their beautiful hearts. Condolences may be made to the family at henrylange.com
