Raymond Joseph “Ray” Tusek, 73, of Petersburg, Illinois passed away June 25, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on March 30, 1949, the son of Raymond “Ray” and Rosemary (Grohar) Tusek at St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, Illinois.
Ray graduated from Lockport High School in Lockport and then went on to Illinois State University and graduated with a degree in education in 1971. Shortly after graduation he married Linda Pinkerton.
Ray is survived by his wife, Linda; his two sons, Ryan (Shannon Bagley) Tusek, Randy (Alyssa Moore) Tusek; grandchildren, Elin and Eva Tusek; sisters, Jackie (Larry) Kozak, Anthony, Mary, Karen (Stanley) Russell, and Joseph “Joe” (JoAnna). Ray was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one brother, Stephen.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Petersburg, Illinois at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 1, 2022. Fr. Maurice Yonta will officiate. Private family burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Petersburg following the service.
Immediately following the service, Ray’s family hopes that you will join them for a meal and sharing of memories at Wankel’s located at 18239 Kelly Street, Petersburg, Illinois.
