Clara married Timothy J. Cottingham on June 25, 1955. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Petersburg. She treasured her family and traditions. She enjoyed cooking, playing games, working puzzles and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.
Clara is survived by her daughters, Karen (Dave) Devine of Petersburg and Anne Fox of Springfield, Illinois; her sons, Timothy (Tina) Cottingham of Wisconsin, Paul (Maureen) Cottingham of Springfield, Phil Cottingham of Springfield, John Cottingham of Chatham, Illinois, and Peter Cottingham of Petersburg; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; a sister in law and many nieces and nephews.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Anton Cottingham; three sisters, Rose Hagelmeier, Mary Stork and Loretta Walters; and seven brothers, John, Louis, Joseph, Francis, Benjamin, Charles and James Kulavic.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 9 am to 11 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. The funeral mass will immediately follow beginning at 11 am with Father Maurice Yonta officiating. Interment will follow mass at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to a charity that the donor chooses.
