Patricia Ann Stairwalt

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann (Carson) Stairwalt, our loving and devoted grandmother, mother, sister, and friend to all whose lives she touched. On June 26, 2022. She left us while sleeping peacefully.

Pat was born on April 17, 1930 in Canton, IL to Thomas and Lucile (Markland) Carson. She met her loving husband Rolland (Rollie) Stairwalt at the Silver Leaf roller rink in Canton IL. From that day forward, the two of them were inseparable. They married on July 20, 1947 in Canton IL. Rollie preceded her in death on March 22, 2010 after 62 years of marriage.
Pat was the beloved mother of Rod Stairwalt, Bill Stairwalt of Placetas, NM, and daughter Sue (Late Jerry) Lefler of Canton, IL. She leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Pat also has one sister Judy Purtle of Port St Lucie, FL and was predeceased by her parents, three brothers: George (Buck) Carson of Delevan, IL, Jack Carson of Canton IL, and Bud Carson of NY. She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, mentor, and caregiver for her parents and mother in-law. Pat volunteered at Graham Hospital Service League along with Meals on Wheels, and was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Canton. She loved to garden, bake, read, and everything related to her grandchildren.
Most importantly, she adored her family and friends and instilled in her children and grandchildren values that have served them well. She will be sorely missed and will live on in our hearts forever. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor Monroe Bailey will officiate. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Serenity Point Hospice, 762 East Chestnut Canton, IL 61520.
