Carol was born on October 16, 1944, in Pekin, IL to Sidney and Minnie (Hermann) Coombs of Manito. She married Donald Ziegenbein on June 19, 1976 at the Spring Lake Missionary Church outside of Manito, and resided at 7727 Spring Lake Rd. In 2021 they moved to the Lodge in Manito.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald who passed away on November 21, 2021, her brother, Norman Coombs, her step-daughter (Don’s daughter), Rebecca Ziegenbein, and her parents, Sidney and Minnie Coombs.
Surviving are several loving cousins, Don’s children, Terry Ziegenbein, of Pekin, Donald “Donnie” Ziegenbein, of Pekin, Linda LaPointe, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Vickie Goss, of Pekin.
Carol graduated from Forman High School. She was a hard worker on the family farm. She was a member and attended Spring Lake Missionary Church. Carol also tried to regularly donate to the Red Cross Blood Drive whenever they came to town. Carol loved people and spending time with family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at Spring Lake Missionary Church. Burial will follow in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. (There will be no visitation)
