Helen “Dee Dee” Stephens, 62, of Havana, went home to be with the Lord on Monday June 13, 2022. She was born on January 27, 1960 in Galesburg, Illinois to David L. and Betty Jean (Crider) Pope.
Dee Dee was a registered nurse at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL, before her retirement. She was a hard worker and an excellent homemaker and cook. She loved spending time with her children. She never met a stranger, and had a heart of gold and would help anyone she could.
Dee Dee was a loving mother and proud of her 3 children who survive: Chad Wayne Stephens of Havana, Jeanne R. Stephens of Mt. Sterling and Tyler David Stephens of Peoria. She is also survived by her father and step mother, David and Judy Pope of Pekin, step father, Gordon Morris of Pekin, sisters, Lissa (Mike) Angus of San Diego, California, Tammy (Ron) Payne of Springfield; Rhonda (Mike) Howard of Pekin; step brothers Joerg (Karen) Pope of Sunnyville, California, Gordon Lee (Sherry) Morris of Pekin, step sisters, Debby (Dennis) Hoehn and Teri (Rich) Sebelist of Pekin, grandson, Clint Stephens of Havana, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Betty Jean Morris, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Cremation rites have been accorded and no services are planned at this time.
