Canton – Sally Elizabeth Savegnago, 57, of Canton, passed away at 3:28 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on May 23, 1961 in Peoria, IL to William Reid and Gean Rose (Yuhr) Griffith. She married Allen Kurt Savegnago on April 16, 1988 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria, IL, he survives.
Also surviving is her mother; two children, Christopher Allen Savegnago and Sarah Marie (Phillip You Ru Shao) Savegnago; two brothers, William Griffith of Pekin and James Griffith of Peoria; two sisters, Gean and Roseanne Griffith both of Peoria; niece, Sophia Johnson of Carol Stream; and beloved cat, Abby.
She was preceded in death by her father and sister, Margaret Griffith.
Sally was a registered nurse at OSF for 15 years and later became a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton. She enjoyed planting flowers, baking, decorating for the holidays, and taking evening naps with her feline best friend, Abby.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, January 30th 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Canton. Father Daniel Ebker will officiate. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
