Farmington – Larry Walter “Sgt. Rock” Urish, 74, of Farmington, formerly of Glasford, passed away at 6:49 AM on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. He was born on September 3, 1942 in Pekin to Harold and Mildred (Lohemeyer) Urish. He married Alice Barkley on June 3, 1992 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Glasford, IL, she survives.
Also surviving are three step-sons, Mike (Tammy) Chatten of Farmington, Tim (Tammy) Chatten of Yates City, IL, and Scott (Dee Dee) Chatten of Morris, IL; eight grandchildren, Tristan Goodlow, Cole, Tad, Alyssa, and Clay Chatten, Tacey Howerter, Katie and Tarissa Chatten; five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ricky Chatten, Josiah Goodlow, Brynnleigh Chatten, and Hadlee Howerter; and one brother, Bill Urish of Glasford.
Larry retired from Witco in Mapleton, IL on September 1, 1998. He was of Lutheran faith. Larry was a member of Farmington Moose Lodge and Bartonville American Legion. He was the founder of Biddy-Ball and a coach in Glasford for 25 years, an avid cardinals fan, and loved to golf and fish.
Larry served as a Sargent in the Army from 1966-1968.
Services will be held at 12 PM noon on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL, where a visitation will be from 10-12 PM. Pastor Harlan Kaden will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Memorials can be made to the family who will determine on where they go.
