Fiatt – Brian L. DeGroot, 50, of Fiatt, passed away on February 28, 2017, at the OSF St Francis Hospital in Peoria.
He was born on June 6, 1966, in Canton to Bill and Rosalie (Shawgo) Degroot.
He married Kim Alesandrini on November 5, 1988 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents, two children, Rachel DeGroot, April DeGroot both of Fiatt, two brothers, Billy DeGroot of Canton, Alan DeGroot of Poplar Bluff, MO, one sister, Lisa McKeever of Canton and three step sisters, Stacy Reyes of Beardstown, Becky Sweeny of Beardstown and Zoa List of MO.
Brian was a meat cutter at Ludlum’s Food Mart in Bushnell. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed woodworking.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton. There will be no visitation.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
