Fiatt – Albert L. Severt, 95, of Fiatt, IL, passed away at 10:25 pm, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. He was born on February 5, 1922 in Canton to William E. and Martha (Althiser) Severt. Albert married Marguriette Simpson on November 1, 1941 in Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2007. Also preceding him in death were his parents, three children; Gary Severt, Sharon Powell, and Elouise Parson. Surviving are two children; Virginia Burbidge of Fiatt, and Dwayne Severt of Macomb, sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Albert was a farmer and also worked at Caterpillar for 38 years, retiring in 1980. He was a WWII Army veteran and was awarded a Purple Heart.
Services will be 1:30 pm Sunday March 26, 2017 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Terry England will officiate.
