Lewistown – Roy Williams, 68, of Lewistown, formerly of Canton, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016, at his residence.
He was born on June 15, 1948 in Canton, to Roy and Betty (Lindzey) Williams. They preceded him in death.
He married Janet Markley and then later married Cecilia Mayall on February 14, 1991 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Lance (Amanda) Williams, Jodi Wilcoxen, Teri (Rod) Swearingen, Justin “Woogie” (Melissa) Williams and grandchildren, Kirsten, Madison, Ethan, Brock, Gregory, Aiden, Braden and Amelia.
Also preceding him in death was one grandchild, Jude.
Roy served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and later served in the Army reserve, stationed in Canton.
He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Canton American Legion and its 40 et 8, a lifetime member of the Lewistown VFW and the Fleet Reserve of Corpus Christy, Texas.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, from 4-7pm, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. The family will receive friends at the Lewistown VFW, at 7:30pm, following visitation, for a celebration of Roy’s life. There will be no funeral service and cremation rites will take place following the service.
