LONDON MILLS- Edward Lee Laswell, 63, of London Mills, passed away at 2:01 PM on Monday, October 3, 2016 at his Residence. He was born on May 5, 1963 in Iniz, Texas, a son of Ward and Betty Bender Laswell. He married Linda Lou Cremeens on April 21, 1978 in Peoria; she preceded him in death on January 28, 2005.
Also preceded him in death is one brother, David Ray Laswell; one sister Debbie Laswell, and one granddaughter, Kyleigh Marie Laswell.
Surviving are his children, Beth (Alan) Pemble of Canton; Diana (Willie) Taft of Springfield; Eric (Stacy) Laswell of East Peoria; and David Allen Laswell; three grandchildren, Zach Kruzan of Florida; Josh Terry of Indiana; Kiera Webb of Athens, IL and one great-granddaughter, Natelie Kruzan of Florida; six sisters, Pat Brown of Herman, IL; Marylin Frank of Bardolph, Ruth Stanton, of Marquette Heights; Ollie Shannon of Bushnell; Betty Walters of Canton; and Charlotte Church of Yates City.
Edward was a truck driver for the last 38 years, retiring in 2013.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 PM on Thursday at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1995 North Main Street, Canton. Rev. Greg Ogle will officiate. Memorials can be made to the family.
