Vermont – Leroy A. “Grandpa Cows” Selph, 83, of Vermont, passed away at 7:35 AM on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Mason County Hospital. He was born on November 28, 1932 in Hermon, IL to Mylon and Beulah (Bramlett) Selph. He married Betty Shinn on March 31, 1951, she preceded him in death on January 6, 2013.
His parents also preceded him in death.
Surviving is one daughter, Rebecca (David) Wheeler of Canton; two grandchildren, Stacey (Tony) Newton of Canton and Ben (Carrie) Wheeler of Canton; nine great-grandchildren, Natasha (Zack Welker) Marlette, Marriah Marlette, Caitlyn Wheeler, Benjamin Wheeler, Abbi Wheeler, Cody Newtown, Dakotah Newton, Hannah Newton, and Allisyn Newton; three great-great-grandchildren, Annalia Newton, Jailyn Newton, and Braxton Welker; and two sisters.
Leroy was a farmer his whole life and also worked in maintenance for Bader Company for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1995 N. Main St., Canton, IL. A private burial will take place at a later date.
