Linda Weaver

Lewistown- Linda Ruth Weaver, born September 14, 1947 in Canton, to Virgil & Irene (Robertson) Shumaker passed away October 17, 2016 at her residence. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gene Weaver. The two were married on October 9, 1964.

She is also survived by her father Virgil (Nina) Shumaker of Lewistown; one son Robert (Diane) Weaver of Lewistown; two grandchildren Alicia (Brad) Robinson and Seth Weaver (Whitnee Bordner) all of Lewistown; two great grandsons Brady & Miles Robinson and a third great grandson expected in the spring; two brothers Charlie (Becky) Shumaker and Jeff (Janie) Shumaker all of Lewistown; one sister Laura (Randie) Beaird of Glendale, AZ; one sister-in-law, Linda Clary of Lewistown; two step sisters Billie Fergerson and Roxanne Fernetti both of Canton; and many nieces and nephews; her dog Dewey; and special friend and caregiver Amanda Harris. She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Shumaker.

Linda enjoyed living on the family farm and always stayed as involved as she could with the farm. She loved her family more than anything. The memories and lessons learned from her will forever be in their hearts. She also enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, oil painting in her younger years, and was an avid George Strait fan.

She was a huge inspiration to so many people and touched so many lives. Her battle with Multiple Sclerosis was long and hard, but she never let it break her spirit. No matter what life or MS threw at her, she always remained the same optimistic person she always had been. She always had a smile on her face, anyone that knew her will without a doubt always remember that smile.

During her struggle with MS, Linda had several wonderful caregivers – her niece Debbie Adams, neighbor Linda Kline, friend Tracy Graham and family friend Amanda Harris. She also had some very special home health nurses to take care of her over the years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday October 21st at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Brian Ebert officiating. Burial will be in Salem-Wilcoxen Cemetery at rural Bryant. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday October 20th at the memorial home.
