Canton – Lillian Rose Gilmore,
87, of Canton passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at
Sunset Manor in Canton.
She was born August 28, 1929, in
Edwards to Gilbert and Lucille (Callier) Snider. She married Wiley Warren Gilmore. He preceded her in death in 1965.
She is survived by five children,
Patty (the late Jeff) Reed of Canton, David (Bonnie) Johnson of Peoria, Richard
(Darlene) Johnson of Canton, Tim (Betsy) Gilmore of Canton, and Cindy (Patrick)
Guerra of Canton; one sister, Beverly Doubet-Osborne of Cuba; fourteen
grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; one son-in-law, Jeff Reed; and one granddaughter, Phoenix Guerra.
Lillian worked throughout the
Brimfield and Peoria areas most of her life.
She worked at Weaver’s in Brimfield from an early age, spent many years
managing retail shops in Peoria, including the Salvation Army Store, and also
worked in home healthcare. She was a
member of Elmwood United Methodist Church.
Lillian was a fun-loving and
energetic soul. She enjoyed keeping
busy. She loved cooking, camping, music,
and traveling. She especially enjoyed
visiting her family in Galveston, TX.
Most of all, she loved her family, and she cherished the time she got to
spend with all of her grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been
accorded. Graveside services, at White
Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, will be announced at a later date. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in
charge of arrangements.
