Canton – Cheryl A. “Cheri” Buban, 66, of Canton passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria.
She was born June 6, 1950, in Peoria to Max Richard and Cecil Agnes (Hananean) Buffum. She married Charles V. Buban on December 15, 1979, in Canton. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1994.
She is survived by her two sons, Vince C. (Calista) Buban of Lewistown and Max R. (Beth) Landry of Canton; three brothers, Bob (Val) Buffum of Dunlap, Tom (Kelly) Buffum of Princeville, and Ron (Trina) Buffum of Peoria; and four grandchildren, Hunter Wells, Jade Wells, Emmitt Buban, and Jasper Buban.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Chuck Bessler and Mike Buffum; and one sister, Tammie Buffum.
Cheryl was a bartender at the Dunlap American Legion. She enjoyed gardening and playing with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Dunlap American Legion Auxiliary.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton.
