Elmwood – Gary Franklin Parsons, 77, of Peoria, passed away at 1:01 pm, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Manor Court in Peoria. He was born on October 30, 1938 in Brereton, IL. to Thomas and Mary (Barberis) Parsons. Gary first married Jeanette James and later married Sharon Wagner. Sharon preceded him death. Also preceding him in death were his parents and a brother David Parsons and sister-in- law Jeanne Parsons.
Surviving is a daughter Lisa (Kevin) Sandall of Princeville, step daughter Marcella Lewis, step-granddaughter Kimbra Wagner, brother Darrell (Lois) Parsons of Canton, three grandchildren; Emily Sandall, Laura Sandall, and Karlen Sandall, step-grandchildren, nephews and a niece.
Services will be 11 am Thursday, October 6, 2016 at South Park United Methodist Church in Canton where visitation will be one hour prior to service. The Rev. Wally Carlson will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
