Barbara J. Cruser

CANTON- Barbara J. Cruser, 94, of Canton, passed away at 5:04 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on December 29, 1921 in Canton, a daughter of David Leigh and Margaret “Mattie” Drake Sprague. She married Sylvester “Cy” Cruser on September 2, 1939 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death in 2007. She was also preceded in death by one son, John Cruser, and one brother.

Surviving are her children, Dixie (Kent “Butch”) Minor of Lewistown; Doris (late Joe) Norton of Canton; Diana (Jim) Eyman of Urbana, Ohio; ten grandchildren,  John Norton, Joetta Fisher, Julie ( Norton) Smith, Amanda Eyman, Jim Eyman, Nick Minor, Kimberly Dutton, CJ Cruser, Kelly Cruser, and Johnna Reverman; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Barbara worked for the Canton Drug Store for many years, and was a member and very involved in the PTA when her children where in school.

Per Barbara’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1995 North Main Street, Canton.  A celebration of life service and burial of ashes will be at a later date.
