She was born December 6, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Oreida K. (McDaniel) Newell and James Stevenson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Kim L. Newell, Gregory Michael Newell, Archie K. Newell and Brian Kelly Newell; and two sisters, Angela Stevenson and Portia Loveless.
Michele is survived by three children, Joshua (Jenna Scotti) Watznauer of Yates City, Portia (Samuel Rodriguez Jr.) Watznauer of Yates City, and Kelsey (Dakota Smith) Watznauer of Bloomington; sisters-in-law Jannice Roundtree-Newell, Sherlene Newell and Kay Newell, and brother-in-law Ron Loveless; several nieces and nephews including Kesha (Eric) Lusain, Jason (Genira) Newell, Adam (Nara) Newell, Stephanie Newell, Jennifer Newell, Brian Newell, Kelsey Newell, Madeline Loveless and Mollie Loveless; and family friends Crystal, Robin, Bonita and Sybil Brown.
Michele spent five years serving her country in the U.S. Air Force until she was honorably discharged in 1991 as a decorated airman.
She was an avid reader, a lifelong athlete and her kids’ toughest coach. Michele loved being surrounded by family and was the most proud of her kids.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
