Isabel lived most of her life in Lincoln, Illinois. She married Merritt D. Crumpler who preceded her in death. They had five children, surviving are Carolyn “Carli” (Bill) Burton of Springfield, Renee (Adam) Smith of St. Louis, and Todd Crumpler of Emden. Two children, Timothy Crumpler and Anthony “Tony” Crumpler also preceded her in death.
Also surviving are a step son, Larry Dean Probst, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and Five great great-grandchildren.
She was very active in the Lincoln Church of the Nazarene (Now Hope Chapel Church of the Nazarene).
At the time of her death, Isabel was married to Joseph Dean Vahle of Canton. They lived in Canton where she was active in the Canton Wesley United Methodist Church.
During her life, Isabel always enjoyed time spent with her family, including her five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed sewing and worked at Lincoln Garment Factory and then at Lincoln Developmental Center as a seamstress.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior TO the service. Rev. Dr. Shalom Renner will officiate the service. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
