James Lyons, Sr.

James Lyons Sr. 77, of Manito, passed away, Friday, December 1, 2023, at his home in Manito. He was born in Garrett Kentucky, to William and Christine (Sloan) Lyons. They preceded him in death along with his partner of many years Nina “Fran” Snider, step son Brett Snider, brothers Freddy, Eugene, and Richard Lyons, and sisters, Caroyl Moore, and Norma Kline.

Surviving are two children, James (Tracy) Lyons Jr. of Manito, and Lee Ann (JD) Dawson of Midlothian Texas, three step children, Leeann (Bob) Berry, Cindy (Terry) Hill, Kyle Snider, and Nick Snider, two sisters, Dot French, and Gaye Nelson, 17 grandchildren, Megan, Danielle, Zachary, Samantha, Shelby, Ryan, Sommer, Kylie, Nicholas, Josh, Tonya, TJ, Alex, Brian, Dalton, Logan, and Zane. Numerous great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. James retired from Caterpillar in 1999. He was a Master Mason. James enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and countless friends.

Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton.
