She was born June 23, 1931 at Canton the daughter of Sydnor and Bessie (Williams) Stockham. She married Robert B. Blackwell. Surviving are two sons, Steve (Pam) Blackwell of Lewistown, and Barry (Terresa) Blackwell of Wee-Ma-Tuk, four grandchildren, Cara (Dana Peifer) Blackwell of Tremont, Christopher (Andie) Blackwell also of Tremont, Megan Blackwell of Galesburg, and Rob (Trisha) Blackwell of Amana, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and five sisters.
Marilyn graduated as Valedictorian of her class at Lewistown High School. She was a homemaker. She also assisted her husband with operating the Brilliant Bronze gas station, a floor covering business, and Bob’s cab all in Lewistown. Marilyn also worked at Mid America National Bank, the Buyer’s Guide Shopper, Miller Shoe Store, and as a custodian. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Canton. Marilyn enjoyed dancing, listening to country music, and socializing with her friends at the Dairy Queen.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday December 7th at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Reverend Fred Albanito officiating. There will be no visitation. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown Fire Department, or Clayberg Nursing Home.
