Vicki L. Brown

Canton – Vicki L. Brown, 60, of Canton, passed away at 12:56 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on July 30, 1961 in Canton, IL to Richard “Dick” and Lorena (Ford) Jump. She was married to Donald “Wade” Brown on June 17, 1979 until 2013. He survives. Vicki’s significant other of three years, Kevin Grove, also survives.

Vicki is survived by her two children, Jenni (David) Knowles and Douglas (Janel) Brown both of Canton; eight grandchildren, Cadence and Kerigan Knowles, Kambell, Payton, Avari, and Asher McDermet, Kinsley and Ivan Brown; three brothers, Rick, Robert and John (Tamy) Jump; one sister, Cindy (Mike) Stufflebean; and brother-in-law Rich Griswold.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Thom, Randy, and David Jump; and two sisters, Christina Griswold and Deborah Jump.

Vicki had a passion for working with children and worked for many years as an early childhood development teacher’s aide at Westview School. Vicki later worked at Golden Acres assisted living for the elderly. She was a lifelong member of Canton First Church of the Nazarene in Canton, IL. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved to serve within her church and community. Vicki loved singing and was a staple member of the church choir for many years. Vicki loved her family, music, church fellowship, God, flower gardening, and painting parties. Vicki’s grandchildren held a special place in her heart and they loved anytime Grandma Vicki was around.

Funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Canton First Church of the Nazarene in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – Noon the same day. Rev. Matt Oost and Rev. Dennis Owens will officiate. Burial will follow service at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL.
