Canton - Karen L. Fillingham, 77, of Canton, passed away at 5:17 pm, Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Loft Nursing Home in Canton. She was born on October 28, 1944 in Canton to Hubert Gordon "Mike" and Wilda (Rohrer) Brown. Karen married Jerrold Fillingham, her love and care giver, on June 29, 1974 in Rapatee, IL. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2014. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother Jerry L. Brown and nephew Chad Clary.
Surviving are three sisters; her twin Sharon Ownley of Valrico, FL, Judith McGann of Canton and Nancy Rader of Auburn, IL, sister-in-law Hazel Brown of Farmington and several nieces and nephews.Karen graduated from Valley High School in 1963. She worked at Dawson Industries in Canton and Canton Community Workshop. Karen was a member of the Canton Assembly of God Church and also volunteered at Graham Hospital in Canton.
Services will be 11 am, Friday, November 5, 2021 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials can be made to either the Canton Assembly of God Church or the Epilepsy Foundation.
