He was born September 26, 1952 at Canton the son of Harold Max Sr. and Maurine (Cooper) Derry. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister Kathie Hough, and one nephew, Eddie Hough. Surviving are his mother, Maurine Schisler of Lewistown, one daughter, Alicia (Brandon) Coonrod of Canton, one son, Justin (Hannah) Derry of Lewistown, one sister, Paula (Doyle) Hough of Lewistown, two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Ella Coonrod of Canton.
Max was a foreman at Caterpillar retiring with over 30 years of service. Max loved animals and he enjoyed fishing and meeting friends for coffee every morning.
Cremation will be accorded. The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements.
