Smithfield - Earl A. Servis, 73, of Smithfield, passed away, Friday, October 29, 2021, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was born on April 23, 1948 in Havana, to William F. "Bill" Servis and Mary F. (Towery). They preceded him in death along with one son, Marcus David Servis.He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Smith) Servis, whom he married on October 29, 1971.
Also surviving are two children, Karen Nicole (Eddie) Weaver of Cuba, and John Curry Servis of Smithfield, two brothers, Elmer (Vickie) Servis of Canton, and Billy Jo (Sharon) Servis of Indiana, two sisters, Gladys (the late Robert) Yaeger of Missouri, and Sandee (Arden) Stocks of Washington state, and two grandchildren, Michaela VanWinkle and A.J. Bauser.
Earl is a 17 year Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served two tours in the Vietnam war. He entered the Marine Corps in 1966 and was in active duty from 1968 - 1970. After his active-duty service Earl spent another 10 years in the Marine Corps Reserves.
Earl retired from Caterpillar in 2003 after 30 years. He was a past member of the Assembly of God Church in Havana and most recently he was attending the Canton Assembly of God Church.
He enjoyed being outdoors, going out to eat, old movies and working with his hands on countless projects. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a burial of his ashes will be held at a later date at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
