She was born June 30th, 1923 to William Whiteman and Nellie (Beasley) Medill. They preceded her in death.
Barb married Harvey Johnson Sr. on January 25, 1941, in Canton. He preceded her in death along with two daughters, Christina Stephens, and Melissa Arnett, one daughter-in-law Mary Johnson, one grandson, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter. She has 21 grandchildren and 58 great grandchildren.
Surviving are eight children: Harvey Jr. of Canton, Daniel (Cheryle), Rick (Rhonda), Jim, Lou Ellen all of Lewistown, Barbara (Woody) Moore of Canton, Melanni (Doug) Jallas of Chandlerville, and Cheryle (Larry) Nebergall of Lewistown.
Barbara’s gift was to love everyone unconditionally. All were welcome in her home, and she loved them as if they were one of her own. She was a loving parent, grandmother, and aunt to all that walk through her door. Besides babysitting in her home, Barb was a homemaker, pre-school assistant teacher at Button and Bows, a volunteer grandparent for Head Start pre-school in Cuba, Canton, and Lewistown.
Barb loved playing Bingo in Cuba and Lewistown. She was an avid Cardinal baseball fan even though most of her children and husband are Cub fans. She loved to bowl and did so until the age of 93.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of service Tuesday at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church in Lewistown.
