Glasford- Daniel Scott DeFrance, 58, of Glasford, passed away at 9:48 PM on Monday, November 22, 2021 in rural Peoria County. He was born on June 9, 1963 in Peoria, a son of David and Gertrude (Parson) DeFrance Sr. He married Teri Schunk on October 8, 1994 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his two daughters, whom he was a proud father of, Casey (Sabrina Matthews) DeFrance of Morton; Hannah (Kevin Haley Jr.) DeFrance of North Pekin, and one sister, Debra (Albert) Weishaar of Mapleton, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, David Jr., and his beloved dog, Bo.
He worked as a self-employed truck driver. Dan was a man of few words but wore his heart on his sleeve. In his younger years he spent a majority of his time on dirt bikes and roller skates. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, loved kayaking, the outdoors and nature, and enjoyed working on anything, was known as the jack of all trades to his family. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. Dan will be missed by many friends and family, and was loved by everyone who met him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville, where visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 3, 2021. Additional visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the services on Saturday. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded through Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville. Memorials can be made to TAPS.
