Millicent B. Cox
Canton – Millicent B. Cox, 78, of Canton passed away at 6:50 pm Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Canton. She was born on November 16, 1937 in Smithfield to Cecil and Euda (Bevard) Beam. Millicent married John “Jack” Cox on May 13, 1957 in Smithfield. He survives along with three children; John (Linda) Cox of Wayside, NJ, Bill (Dee) Cox of Canton, and Mary (John) Fidler of Amboy, four grandchildren; Julie (Ian) Scroggs, Daniel (Samantha) Cox, Rebecca (Eric) Glenn, and Tiffany Cox, and one great-grandson Wesley James Scroggs.
Millicent was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Millicent worked at Block and Kuhl in Peoria. She was a member of First Christian Church of Canton, Christian Women’s Fellowship, Royal Neighbors, an Election Judge, and a Deaconess.
Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Nina Nestlerod will officiate. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
