Canton – Elizabeth Champlin, 84, of Canton, passed away at 7:55 AM on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at her residence. She was born on July 6, 1931 in Fulton County to Floyd and Helen (Abbott) Cleer. She married Robert F. “Bob” Champlin Sr. on May 16, 1953 in Canton, IL. He survives.
Also surviving is one son, Robert F. “Rick” (Julie) Champlin of Canton; one granddaughter, Lena Champlin; two brothers, Ray (Emily) Cleer of Canton, and Dale (Marylin) Cleer of Hanna City; and one sister, Shirley Helle of Canton.
Preceding her in death are her parents.
Elizabeth worked as a nurse at the Graham Medical Group in Canton. She was a member of Church of the Brethren in Canton. She was also a member of Fulton County Master Gardener’s, Garden Club, Women Committee Farm Bureau, Graham Hospital Nurses Alumni, and Canton Main Street.
Services will be at 10 AM on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. Rev. Kevin Kessler will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Locust Lane Cemetery in Rural Canton. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the funeral home.
