Blanche E. Shaw
Lewistown- Blanche E. Shaw, 90, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:44 AM Saturday April 30, 2016 at her home. She was born October 22, 1925 at Perry County, IL; the daughter of John and Margaret Lorene (Mallot) Henry. She married Stanley F. Shaw on May 2, 1942 at Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Peggy Shaw Staten, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, three sisters, Ruth, Frieda, and Rose, and two brothers, Everett and Hugh. Surviving are three children, Stan (Carrie) Shaw of Havana, Betty (Jerry) Downing of St David, and Robert “Bob” (Peggy) Shaw of Lewistown, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Dorothy Bitner of Canton, and Juanita Whitely of Havana.
Blanche was an active member of the Crossroads Free Methodist Church in Lewistown. She was a member of the Lewistown VFW Auxiliary, and was active with the Lewistown Food Pantry, and the Lewistown school back pack program. She had also been a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, a Girl Scout leader, and Mothers Club. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, and Fishing and camping with her husband. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and was loved dearly by all.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, where visitation will be held one hour prior. Reverend Larry Wright will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Graham Hospice.
